Étoile was inspired by the 1970’s hippie movement & her own personal sketching style. Using both of these things she tried to create an aesthetic, playful, nostalgic & minimalist type specimen book. She decided to use a limited color palette to also reenforce the hippie & minimalist themes and used a common hippie saying, man, as part of her title.
